Good Timing

So my cousin sold his dirt bike the other day and wanted something a bit bigger. So I sold him my trail bike for about 400 more then he sold his 150cc for, not a bad deal for him. Works out good for me too, now I have more cash to put into the house, which is good because we are putting the roof on it Saturday :-)

Land 'discovered'

So we found a nice piece of land that is close to the highway without being right in town. It's about 3 minutes to the highway and about 40 minutes from there to Saint John. I'm pretty excited, now for the fun of getting all the quotes to make sure everything fits in the budget. I used 'paint' to draw a house plan, now I just need to make sure everything is ready for this summer. Let the countdown begin.

New Battery and New Phone

I stopped in at NAPA autoparts the other day, they had a sale on a battery for my z750. I paid $79 for a battery that's normally $113 and it fits great in my bike. So on the weekend I put the bike in dad's trailer, took it up to his place, changed the oil, put the new battery in...and voila the bike started on the first try. How I've missed the bike, I forget how much fun it is over the winter. But once spring gets here and I take it out for one drive, I remember how fun it is.

I also picked up a new phone on the weekend, the screen on the old one had started working again, but the keypad wasn't working right. Oh well, it was only $200 and I don't have to worry about the old razr drying out. It can sit in the closet and rust for all I care.

Now if I could just get some summer weather to go between spring and fall I would be all set.

Waterproof Razr

On a side note I put my Razr in the washing machine with a load of jeans. I'm not sure if it was the washing machine or the tumbling around in the dryer that did it, but the screen on the inside is now lifeless. For those of you that are wondering, aside from that it is still functioning as good as before. Now if that's not a tough phone I don't know what is.

Two Dead Batteries

I knew that the battery in my Z750 wasn't holding a charge and that the battery in the CRF230F was just about as bad. So when I decided to go pick up the Z750 I took booster cables with the plan to boost to get it home and then pick up a new battery once I had it in town. Things didn't go as planned.

I started by taking the old gas out of the tank since I didn't put stabilizer in it last fall. It looked like the gas was still fine but I left it out anyway, better to play it safe. Now it is refilled with some nice fresh supreme gasoline.

Next was the battery, put it in the bike and turned the key. As expected no life at all. That's fine, I figured I'd just boost it and go....nope. The booster cables on the battery and it still wouldn't start, even after 10 minutes. So I had the bright idea to go swipe the battery out of the CRF. Sure it's smaller, but it should be enough to keep the bike running once I got it started. Wrong, that battery was just as bad.

So now I've got two batteries that I need to replace. Oh well, might go do some shopping tonight and see if I can find some good replacements. It was too cold to be driving the bike this week anyway.

Spring is Here

So I'm thinking of moving to a nice place out in the country. If I'm out in the country it would be a sin to sell the bike. I don't want to sin...I guess I'll have to keep the bike.

So now that it's 'technically' spring that means that I should clean up the bikes, do a bit of service work and get them in prime running shape for summer. Oh and I bought myself a nice TV so I really have to fight the urge to turn into a couch potato...maybe I shouldn't have bought that very comfortable couch last summer.

Oh well, next on the agenda is to service the bikes and get some new batteries for them.
